Works completed on the MERITS Building in July 2021 and the official opening of the Mid-East Regional Innovation Thinkspace (MERITS) took place on the 23rd June 2023.
MERITS is an innovation thinkspace hub created to support digital and technology innovation in the Mid-East region (Kildare, Meath & Wicklow). The state-of-the-art 1200sqm incubation space for start-up and scaling technology businesses, comprises the latest tools and technologies along with office space, meeting rooms and conference suites in an immersive experience.
Duggan Lynch Ltd. acted as Main Contractors on this new 2 storey building with the Architects being Metropolitan Workshop. The building comprised co-working incubation and accelerator space for technology entrepreneurs and technology businesses on a site of approx. 0.6 Ha. which included the provision of entrance reception area with canopy and signage; café; community rooms; meeting rooms; managers office; conference area / function room, open plan office for hot desks and 10 no. business start-up office space; kitchenettes; associated service rooms; plantrooms; storage rooms; male, female and accessible toilets over two floors consisting of 1,210m2.
The building is constructed with a Reinforced Concrete Frame, Floors and Roof, infill Steel Frame System to external wall with a combination of Brick and Timber Cladding, PVC Roof Membrane and a Structural Steel Zinc Clad Canopy
