Duggan Lynch are delighted to have attended the official opening of the new Naas Library on the 15th April, 2024 hosted by Kildare County Council.
This project has become a remarkable success for Naas. As the main contractors, Duggan Lynch Builders constructed two modern extensions and completed comprehensive conservation, refurbishment and fitout of the existing three-story building. Originally built as a gaol in 1796, this historic structure has been transformed into a state-of-the-art library and cultural centre.
The revitalised facility now features study and workspaces, sensory rooms, a gallery, an amphitheatre, and a public garden designed to serve the community’s diverse needs.
Some of the works undertaken by Duggan Lynch included:
- construction of two rear extensions (single and 2-storey) to provide extended library on the ground floor
- additional fire escape stairs and plant room
- approximate area 1015m2 of internal alterations/refurbishment of existing rooms to form the new library/ meeting rooms.
- conservation works to the structure
