Naas Library
Project Description
This award winning project comprised of the alterations, refurbishment and extension to the existing building to form a new Library inclusive of external works.
The project scope included:
- demolition of outbuildings and offices in rear yard
- change of use from Town Hall to Library
- construction of two rear extensions (single and 2-storey) to provide extended library on the ground & 1st floor
- additional fire escape stairs and plant room
- internal alterations/refurbishment of existing rooms to form new library/ meeting rooms, work & exhibition space
- significant structural works within the existing building including removal of 3 storey concrete stairs, new openings requiring temporary works design.
- conservation works to the structure including reroofing & repairs, lime plaster, refurbishment & repointing to exposed stoneworks
- full electrical works incl. Fire Alarm, CCTV & Intruder and My Open Library Automation.
- mechanical works incl. Heat Recovery Ventilation Systems, BMS etc.
- Bespoke Joinery Fitout incl. Oak shelving & racking to library Halls, Reception Desks etc.
- exhibition galleries
- staff rooms with toilet facilities; and
- Hard & Soft Landscaping, Public Realm Works
- All associated Drainage, Ducting & Civils Works
- New Utility Connections
