This Multi-Purpose Sports Hall, with a Gross Internal Floor Area of 1,600 sq.m, consists of a two storey structural steel frame building, built over a 450 sq.m. Reinforced Concrete Basement.

The Basement contains 4nr Changing Rooms with associated Shower Areas, 2nr Instructors Changing Rooms, 2nr Disabled Toilets, 2nr Male & Female Toilets, 1nr Store and 1nr Boiler Room.

The Ground Floor consists of a 600 sq.m. Sports Hall complete with a 364 Person Retractable Seating Facility, 1nr Office, 2nr Storage Rooms and an Entrance Lobby.

The First Floor has a 70 sq.m. Viewing Gallery onto the Multi-Purpose Hall below. The Basement, Ground & First Floor are serviced by 2 Stair Cores and a 6 Person Passenger Lift.

The Building is enveloped in a combination of Terracotta Rainscreen Cladding with Full Height Curtain Walling on one elevation and continuous perimeter glazing at eaves level. The Building has a Convex / Concave curved Metal deck Roof.

The Project posed many challenges. It was carried out during the school year with no disruption to school activity. Basement Construction involved temporary sheet piling due to the confined nature of the site. The building is sited in a confined space between a state of the art all weather hockey pitch and the LUAS Green Line. The entire project was carried under a LUAS Work Permit due to the proximity to the site.
